13 Needles is a modern, professional tattoo and piercing studio located in the Three Lamps area of Ponsonby with convenient free parking nearby in the Margaret St car park. Since we opened in October 2011, we have been rapidly expanding thanks to the amazing efforts and hard work of all of our talented team; Fabian, Josh, Jess, Spencer, Lynn and Emily, and we’re now becoming increasingly well known for our innovative, creative artwork and careful, safe piercing.

Whether you are a serious collector or someone who is thinking about getting their first tattoo or piercing, our friendly staff will take great care of you in our spotlessly clean, hygienic studio. We pride ourselves on being somewhere where you can feel comfortable and relaxed, and we are licensed by Auckland City Council to ensure that all health and safety standards are rigorously maintained.

All of our artists are experienced in a wide range of different sizes and styles of tattoos and we specialize in unique, custom designs, including traditional, modern, fine lettering, bold colours, black and white and portrait. Our piercer, Jess, is one of Auckland’s most sought after and only pierces with single-use pre-sterilized needles, which means no piercing guns.

Although it’s generally safer to schedule an appointment, walk-ins are always welcome, and we have a large collection of flash to look through if you need help with choosing a design.
